The Government has taken the decision to implement Drinking Banning Orders (DBOs) on application. These orders came into force on 31st August 2009 and will be available to practitioners from this date. The Home Office has published guidance on DBOs on application.

Acceptance of Pass Cards Mandatory?

Allowing licensees to choose which forms of ID they accept makes a nonsense of Government attempts to combat underage sales.

That was the stern message delivered by the chief executive of CitizenCard Andrew Charvis on the card's 10th anniversary.

Zero tolerance of violence towards ambulance staff

Portsmouth City Pubwatch (PCP) has today confirmed its' Zero Tolerance of violence towards Ambulance workers.

Pubwatch Chair Janet Hillier has spoken with Community Heath Practitioner & Paramedic John Cross of the South Central Ambulance Service to confirm that PCP Members endorsed a motion which will see an immediate exclusion from their venues of any individual who assaults a member of the ambulance service.

Small pub fights big boys ?1 a pint

A small pub is fighting back against the big boys by offering a pint of beer for less than a pound.

The move by the independently owned Waterfront Quay in Gosport High Street comes after pub giant JD Wetherspoon started a price war by launching its own 99p pint.

Fewer bouncers attacked

THE number of bouncers being attacked while at work in our pubs and clubs has fallen.
