A new website designed to help licensees run their business effectively is to launch on 1 February.

Pub Assist is the brainchild of former licensee Jason Tring. The site, www.pubassist.co.uk, provides licensees with tips and guides on everything from health and safety and stock-taking, to calculating gross profits, negotiating supplier deals and employment advice.

It has a directory of entertainers and suppliers, a menu-building facility, a function to help design marketing materials and even a facility to help members build their very own pub website; it also offers subscribers the opportunity to download quizzes.

“The main idea was to provide solutions to problems,” said Tring. “This site is run by people who have real experience of running pubs to assist those who currently run pubs.

“We are offering practical solutions to all issues facing existing and new entrants to our industry, ranging from how to find a pub to making it profitable, and how not to lose it.

“We are working with a range of experts who will be accessible via Pub Assist to provide the most comprehensive and effective web-based business-solutions service bar none.”

Pub Assist is offering half-price membership for the first year, at a cost of just £20.
